Former school dormitory in Ostrava starts new life as carbon neutral residential scheme

Architect Jan Novotný together with colleagues from our Ostrava studio have designed a carbon-neutral reconstruction of two buildings of the former high school dormitory for healthy living between Hasičská and Zlepšovatelů streets. The reconstruction received a building permit last year and the first construction works were started this year. Construction is proceeding according to plan and the owners of the new flats will move in next year. Sunny apartments with balconies and spacious front gardens will be complemented by a nice semi-public park with a pleasant sitting area, a children's playground and a variety of green spaces.
