Two decades of the online magazine Stavební Fórum through the eyes of its founder Michal Šourek

Michal Šourek, head of the MS Architects studio, and also the founder of the Construction Forum, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

When you founded the Construction Forum twenty years ago, the state of our real estate market at the time was undoubtedly one of your motivations. What was it really like?

I don't think I was the only one at the time who perceived it as very dirty - at that time, real estate shops had a bad smell. And in this situation, there were a few people who wanted to change that and bring more transparency to the market - believing that a more transparent market would work better. The establishment of the Construction Forum was part of these broader or more general efforts. Another was the establishment of the Association for the Development of the Real Estate Market, which I founded at the same time with several other people in the field - the meaning of this institution is evident from its name.
