We were awarded the special prize of the jury in the competition on the urban design of Plzeň city centre

Stavbaweb.cz wrote the following on our urban design of Plzeň development:

In a short period of time, MS architekti have been able to succeed in two architectural and urban competitions. Although, in recent competition, the design of the studio for conceptual solution of the city centre development in Plzeň was evaluated outside the competition for technical reasons, it was awarded a special prize. Their comprehensive design of a new metropolitan structure will put a completely new face on the city.

Every competition is a bit like jump into the unknown – the quality assignment is not always the clue for what the jury would accept and, of course, you never know who your competitors would be. Nevertheless, our studio always accentuates the issue of public space in conceptual competitions of this type. In other words: we believe that the area between designed buildings is as important as buildings. Competitions in Helsinki and Plzeň have justified this approach not only by prizes awarded but also by the fact that we won both competitions in public voting that took place at the time of project exhibition presentations.”
