Our proposal for a new marina building located on the banks of Prague’s Vltava River aims to open up the river site to the public. An elegant and dynamic new building is proposed where a palette of high quality materials including wood, metal, concrete and glass are used. Large glazed facades will provide the impression that the building is floating above the river whilst also opening up new views of the city. Founder of the studio Michal Šourek said: "Sensitive regeneration will finally breathe new life into the port and offer new opportunities. The complex will provide a pleasant public space on the river bank which will connect the specific character of the port with the city. In addition to reconstructed and newly built facilities for a range of different water sports, we have designed a boat house for Charles University, which will provide them with the space they need”.
