Proposed regeneration of Zbraslav Square

Zbraslav Square in the historic town of Zbraslav is now part of an outer district of Prague and located at its southern edge. Currently used more as a transport hub than a public meeting space, our competition entry proposed a design for a public square sensitive to its surroundings with a multi-purpose space suitable for various events. The town is renowed for it’s events including traditional fairs, a vintage car festival, exhibitions and open air concerts and the new square needed to be flexible in supporting these. We proposed that the city hall building is refurbished and fronted by a series of glazed structures which would overlook the square and house a market, café and information centre.
